Introduction
Panchakarma isaspecialized branch of ayurveda that focuses On Detoxification, Purification & Rejuvenation Of The Body. It aims to eliminate accumulated toxins and metabolic waste which are responsible for the formation of disease through scientifically planned therapeutic procedures.
Panchakarma is a traditional ayurvedic treatment system that cleanses the accumulated toxins from body and helps restore the balance of the three doshas (body humor) ie vata, pitta, and kapha and sapta dhatu (body tissue).
The department provides comprehensive panchakarma therapies including Vamana, Virechana, Basti, Nasya, And Raktamokshana along with individualized treatment plans based on ayurvedic principlas.
These therapies help in the management of various chronic and lifestyle disorders and promote overall health, well-being, and disease prevention.
MISSION
- To impart quality education in the field of panchakarma to imminent panchakarma specialised doctors.
- Implementation of scientific panchakarma therapy in clinical practice for the well-being of society.
Departmental Strength
- We arrange seasonal camps of Vasantik Vamana, Sharadiya Virechana and Varshakalin Basti in our hospital as well as nearby areas for awareness of panchakarma therapy & its benefits in seasonal diseases.
- Several research studies are in progress on Lifestyle Diseases, Neuromuscular Diseases, Musculoskeletal Disorders, Pain Management, Immune Boosting and Cosmetics.
- 18 PG students are working on their specialized work.
- Panchakarma Technician Course done under Mukhyamantri Maha Arogya Kaushalya Vikas Prashikshana – 2021.
- Special OPD for Sthoulya - Functional & Specialized ayurvedic Treatment for obesity and weight management through panchakarma and lifestyle correction.

Available Facilities
- Snehan – Snehan (Oleation Therapy) is a preparatory ayurvedic procedure in which medicated oils administered internally or applied externally to lubricate the body, soften tissues, and loosen toxins.
- Swedan – Swedana (Sudation Therapy) is a panchakarma procedure that induces therapeutic sweating using medicated heat or steam various types of swedana eg. katibasti, janubasti, greevabasti, hrudya basti, merudand basti, nadiswedan etc.
- Basti – Basti is an ayurvedic medicated enema therapy used for detoxification, nourishment, and balancing vata dosha.
- Vaman – Vaman is procedure that eliminates aggravated kapha dosha and toxins from the body through controlled vomiting.
- Virechan – A therapeutic purgation therapy for deep internal cleansing and pitta balance.
- Nasya – Nasya is administration of medicated ghee, oil, kwath, swaras, powder in nostrils.
- Raktmokshan – Raktamokshana (Sirevedh & Jalokavcharan) is a classical ayurvedic purification procedure in which a small amount of vitiated blood is removed from the body to eliminate toxins.
- Patrapottali Sweda – Sudation Therapy with the help of herbal leaves, medicated oils, powders.
- Shashtikshali Pinda Sweda – Sudation therapy in which boluses of shashtika shali rice cooked in herbal decoction and milk are applied over the body.
- Shirodhara – Shirodhara is relaxing therapy in which a continuous stream of medicated oil, buttermilk, milk is gently poured over forehead for specific duration.
- Agnikarma – Agnikarma is procedure in which controlled therapeutic heat is applied to specific points of the body using heated metallic instruments.
