- Vaman (Therapeutic Emesis):
Medicinally induced purgation advocated mainly for disorders of Kapha Dosha. - Virechan (Therapeutic Purgation):
Medicinally induced purgation advocated for disorders of Pitta Dosha. - Basti (Therapeutic Enema):
Per rectal administration of medicated oils or ghee independently or in combination with herbal decoctions, advocated mainly for disorders of Vata Dosha. - Nasya (Nasal Instillation of Medicine):
Intra nasal administration of medicated oils, ghee, milk or herbal powders advocated mainly for the treatment of diseases of the Head and neck. - Rakta Mokshana (Therapeutic Blood Letting):
Involves removal of impure blood either by application of medicinal leeches or with specially designed instruments or by venesection, Raktamokshan is advocated for acute and chronic skin diseases and many generalized diseases.
